When my papa was here for Christmas, he answered the door when I wasn’t there and a fellow asked to come in to inspect our “gas and electricity” he also said “I’m not trying to sell you anything.” The person didn’t show any identification and he came by on a Saturday evening. My papa turned him away.

When I found out about it, I called the police and relayed the information to the dispatch. It could have been an attempted fraud or scoping for a theft. The dispatcher asked for my phone number and told me an officer would call me.

About an hour later an officer did call me. He had come to my house (though I wasn’t home at the time). He asked me if I had any more information than I had given the dispatcher.

He asked if he could put me on speaker phone and ask a couple more questions. I agreed.

“What’s your date of birth?”

I told him.

That was the only question. It seemed kind of weird. I assume it was to add to a file of me reporting the incident.
