A big deal is being made of the price of oil reaching $100 US a barrel as was re-reported in The Record today.
A few years ago, it seemed unimaginable that crude oil prices could ever reach $100 US a barrel.
But yesterday it did just that, briefly soaring to $100. It was good news for governments dependent on the tax revenue from oil production, and bad news for consumers who depend on gasoline.
