New Hampshire hustings

As a double outsider to PotUS race — in that I am not a part of the proces nor the nation — the result of the primary is how I think I might have voted McCain, Clinton.

It is an interesting thing that there be such a fierce fight for merely the nomination, but then the candidates need to then fight their worse rivals in the other party.

I was waiting for today after Iowa last week when Obama beat the polls that showed him trailing Clinton, which then led commentators and reporters to talk towards a new light. This week with some polls before the primary showing Obama double digits ahead. Now, Clinton beat those polls.

I read an interesting thing about Bill’s comments criticizing both the press and Obama at Dartmouth College Monday.

References I read focus on the “fairy tale” comment:

This whole thing is the biggest fairy tale I’ve ever seen

He also made some other points, which were interesting:

  • He said that the resolution cited as showing support for the war was co-authored by the only Republican who was always against the war and that the resolution was conditional on Iraq not co-operating with weapons inspectors.
  • He said: “…you [Obama] said in 2004 you didn’t know how you would have voted on the resolution? You said in 2004 there was no difference between you and George Bush on the war and you took that speech you’re now running on off your website.”
  • I don’t know what this means: “I wouldn’t take a nickel to see the cow jump over the moon.”
  • Also after his long comments he said: “Otherwise I do not have any strong feelings about that subject.”

Here a some other links to stories about his comments.

Anyway, that some thing that happening in United Statesian politics, so I truly don’t have strong feelings about it.

Warm weather going back to cold average

Last week the snow was deep; this week we were warm but wet.

Roka and I went for a run at the Rec this afternoon. After running about 20 minutes we came out into what felt like a spring rain.

When I came back to town on New Year’s Day the snow was wading, plowing and slipping through deep drifts of white stuff, but now it is almost gone.

The UW Weather Station recorded 13.3 C for yesterday and 12.9 C for Monday.

The site talks about the records:

So that puts January 8th as the 4th highest January temperature in the last 90 years.

The Environment Canada Weather Office predicts not a high temperature for tomorrow, but “falling temperatures,” which, I gather, means that tonights low is higher than tomorrow’s high. Crazy.

So the forecast is temperatures falling to 1 C Wednesday evening and then a low of -3 C that night.

So we return to normal chilly times.
