Last Tuesday I worked in Hamilton in the morning after that we drove to Niagara for the rest of the day.
It was a windy day out on the peninsula, but the sun shone too.

We stopped by a closed newspaper museum where William Lyon Mackenzie first published The Colonial Advocate newspaper. Mackenzie was leader of the Upper Canada rebellion and later became grandfather of William Lyon Mackenzie King (actually the grandfather passed before the birth of his namesake). ON the day of the publishing of the first issue of the newspaper Mackenzie planted honey locust trees, two of which still stand outside the office. The trees have these clusters of spines on them.

Then we stopped by Inniskillin winery and took a tour. Lynn gave us a tour in English, it was just the three of us. I asked loads of questions. The Japanese tour behind us was packed.

The parking lot was paved with stone leaving space for permeability and the lot was also broken by rows of vines.

Of course ice wine is a big deal here. Lynn told us about the award they won for their Eiswein in France. She described it as the Oscars for wine. I volunteered that it was like Australia winning The America’s Cup. She agreed.

I posed with a big bottle. It was empty. I think it might be a rehoboam, that is a 4.5l bottle or is that term just for champagne bottles.

In the show cellar there was a board or dining chamber with huge board or dining table with Frank Lloyd Wright chairs a few originals and other replicas. It was like a secret meeting room for powerful people deep underground.

Then we went to the falls.

Niagara falls.

Here is Tesla.

And a view down the street.
