The news media and politicians have been talking about there being an election in October. I prefer to wait until it is going to happen for sure and now it is.

Stephen Harper asked the governor-general to dissolve parliament this morning and now we will go through another election campaign for the next 37 days.

• Stephen Harper: “I presume Dion is a family man.” Kind of a jerk thing to say. Does he seriously not know or is this just a campaign comment.
• Stephane Dion’s phrase “Republican-style attack ads with Canadian-style courage” sounds kind of weird.
• Jack Layton: “Stephen Harper announced today he is quitting as Prime Minister. And so toda,y I am applying for the job.
• Elizabeth May: “This is the single most important election in our history.” Yikes, if she is correct, then we are probably in a lot of trouble.

So for the next five weeks we have more wak campaign comments forward to which to look.
