Soon it will be more widely revealed that Will received double the expense reimbursement last summer and that he had $1,200 for an orientation purchase that the supplier couldn't fulfil. Though he tried to repay it right away, he said, because of some mixups he had the money for about a four month period.
For student life 101 (26 Jul 2003) the student societies including ASU and MathSoc collaborated on a barbecue. Will bought supplies for $161.45. Will received a cheque from ASU for that amount four days later (30 Jul 2003) and cashed it the following day (31 Jul 2003).
Meanwhile MathSoc who had collected the money from the barbecue and had the receipt filled out a cheque on the same day (30 Jul 2003). Will would have received it after that day. He ended up cashing the cheque 13 days later (12 Aug 2003).
In the next case Hamilton wrote a cheque to himself for $1,200. He said that it was to pay in cash for an order of orientation water bottles for which the supplier would only accept cash.
He said that the supplier could not provide the bottles so he wrote a cheque back to ASU and placed it in a white succession binder. The binder was misplaced, which means the cheque was too.
It was not until November that he replaced the cheque. He had spent the beginngin of the fall term working on the provincial election campaign. That cheque did not have sufficient funds.
In January he bought a money order and repaid the money.
More will be coming out on this.
